Peoria police and the coroner's office are investigating the death of a 21-month old boy tonight.
Peoria County Coroner Johnna Ingersoll says the Evan Wallace of Princeville died from asphyxia after his father found him on the floor of his Peoria apartment around 2-30 this morning. Wallace was pronounced dead about an hour later at the O-S-F emergency room. The coroner says Evan was sleeping in an adult bed with a 3-year-old sibling, but was found on the floor between the bed and the wall.
The coroner's office and Peoria police are investigating the circumstances that led up to his death.

I am Evan's Mom. I ache to feel him in my arms. His brother is taking it hard even though he doesn't quite understand. I lost Evan 2 days before his big brothers birthday. Life will never be the same.

Our son fell off of the bed just a few short weeks ago. We thank God that he is okay and had no injuries at all. He is almost a year old and this is the first time he has fallen off of anything. He is now sleeping in his crib most of the night but partly still with us in our bed but we have since pushed the bed against the wall to protect from this happening again. Our prayers our with the family of this child.

That's why we always slid the mattress all the way against the wall or put a bunch of pillows on the edge of the bed so the child can't roll off.We pray for you & your child.
