Roanoke Police Chief Placed On Leave

By WEEK Producer

The police chief of Roanoke is on paid administrative leave after being arrested Thursday night on a domestic violence charge.
Chief Mike Brockway was taken into custody and spent some time in the Woodford County jail before he was released.

Woodford County State's Attorney Mike Stroh said no charges were being filed against Brockway.
However, the Roanoke Village Board placed Brockway on administrative leave until trustees can meet next week.
During this Memorial Day and Roanoke Festival weekend, Village President Bob Huschen said police protection was being provided by the Woodford County Sheriff's office.

I think someone has issues Its nutjobs like you who make a mockery of are nice quiet village.

I am grateful for him and so should you be. And if he is harsh with you your son or your grandson then don't get mad at the cops get mad that your son brought the cops to you to begin with. of what is truly wrong with our community. It isn't Brockway. It is all of us fearing the other guys that threaten our taxes and our livlihood to gain for themselves. These are the people you need to be worried about.

Sunday, May 31 at 3:52 PM Colleen Shaver wrote ...

In closing, please don't make any mistake. It is the people that shy away from the bullies because of fear that allows the corruption(s) to go on. But it is also you the people that can stand up and fight for a difference and make it all go away and keep these corrupt people in check, like Brockway does, to make that difference. So quit complaining of one man and make a difference where it counts. You all have too much to lose to just let a private family matter like this get in the way of what

Sunday, May 31 at 3:46 PM Colleen Shaver wrote ...

But never make a difference. They are too afraid to stand up for what they believe in and don't have an ounce of courage that you have. Don't change for any of them. God is on your side and there should be more people like you in office then the communities wouldn't have to worry if they are getting robbed or not of thier taxes or livliness

Chief Brockway. I would stand beside you in battle and I will honor you in all that you do. Your wife has an illness and your patience are more selfless than most. People are jealous of you because if they could do it better then they would be in your position. Don't let the unbelievers judge you. You know you are a good man and will always do what is right in the best interest of all involved and your beliefs are strong and you will prevail over these people whom claim to have so much to say

Sunday, May 31 at 3:41 PM Colleen Shaver wrote ...

And as far as Brockway's wife is concerned. Her illness is a disease. He accepted her for this disease and has more patience and has be selfless to provide her and her children with a life. She does need help and I believe that he called the Sheriffs dept to prevent her from hurting herself or others in her immediate state. Which by the way is exactly what he is supposed to do a an officer.

Sunday, May 31 at 3:39 PM Colleen Shaver wrote ...

Before a difference can be made you all need to humble yourselves and look at the truth. If you don't committ a crime you won't have to get Chief Brockway at your door. It seems the ones complaining all the time are the law breakers who are constantly on our court system rosters more than going to thier jobs. Look at the facts instead of judging.

Sunday, May 31 at 3:37 PM Colleen Shaver wrote ...

And I hate to tell you all but that is what his job is. It is to keep our young single families, our elderly and single women and children safe. Period. The only agenda here is a county that doesn't back up thier own and a community blinded by con men.

Noone wants to hear that Roanoke's New Board members are corrupt but they are. Houchen's practically entire family has taken over. Isn't this corruption. How can they be ethical and realistic with the decisions for our community when they only want to gain power and nnoteriety

Sunday, May 31 at 3:30 PM Colleen Shaver wrote ...

Michael Brockway is NOT corrupt he is a man of integrity. The problem everyone has with him is that they don't like the fact that he is realistic and tells people the facts that you the people don't wnat to hear

I want everyone to know who I am. Why? Because I am going to write until you get all of what I have to say out. Corruption isn't done by just one man folks it is from acommunity of others that think they are better than the system and use others to gain for themselves.

Hmmm I don't think they would have arrested him unless they thought they had a just cause to do so. Come on people, wake up, the guy is bad news.

This is a small town and just about everyone knows everyone. A local police dept really has no requirement here at all. this town could of used a new water treatment facility
