Explorer Scouts from the W.D. Boyce Council will be on the Peoria Riverfront Memorial Day raising money in the name of a fallen soldier.

The scouts will be collecting donations at Memorial Services in the name of Private First Class Gregory Goodrich.
Goodrich was killed in Iraq while serving with the Bartonville based 724th Transportation Company.
The money will go to the Peoria Public Library fund in Goodrich's name.

The library has another incentive to encourage donations.

"Anybody who has over due books, can return them next week, Tuesday through Friday at any Peoria Public Library. For whatever donation you give, we will forgive your entire over due fines," said Ed Szynaka, Peoria Public Library Director.

New materials will be bought using the funds donated to the Library in Goodrich's name.
