Update on Last Week's Fatal Car Crash

By WEEK Producer

Two passengers in last week's fatal car crash involving Fieldcrest High School students have been discharged from the hospital.
14-year-old Grant Palmore and his 8-year-old sister Grace were released from OSF St. Francis this weekend. Their sister, 17-year-old Brianna was released soon after the crash Thursday that took the life of Jaclyn (JACK-LINN) Park of Minonk.
The two 15-year-old passengers in Park's truck remain at O-S-F in Peoria. Danielle Meierhofer is in critical condition while Makenzie Gensler remains in serious condition.
Funeral services for Jaclyn Park are now scheduled for tomorrow at Fieldcrest High School. Visitation is from 4 to 7 in the evening with the funeral immediately following. Donations can be made to the Jaclyn Park Memorial Fund, which will go towards special charities.
Jaclyn Park was 16 years old and a junior at Fieldcrest High.

If the driving age was moved to 18, then we would have a bunch of brand new drivers going off to college. I really don't think that changing the age is good idea. Yes, I agree that there should be more training for young drivers, but this was completely an accident. Jaclyn was a beautiful, wonderful friend, and her family is in everyone's prayers.

Jaclyn is one of my very close friends. I truely hope that no one has to go through this. This is the second funeral i've had to go to where one of my friends has passed away. I hope that this will impact not only new drivers, but everyone who recklessly drives. I am praying for her family, stay strong. God bless.

God Bless The Family. To All The Families Affected- Sorry For Loss. I Must Say That 16 is Too Young To Drive. It Should Be State Law That you Have to Be 18 To Drive. That would Save Lives.

God bless the family of this beautiful child. I hope people will start to consider that a 16-year old is not old enough to drive. I believe only very limited driving privileges should be extended to teen drivers between the ages of 16-18. Again, I send my prayers to Jaclyn's family.

It's so tragic that yet another child's life has been taken. I hope that people start listening to these stories and start driving more carefully.
