Havana Fire

A late night fire in Havana has heavily damaged an historic restaurant and several other business.

Authorities answered the call at Town House restaurant on Market Street about 9:30 Monday night.

The first crews at the scene reported fire shooting 25 to 30 feet out the east side of the building, and over the Mason County Jail nearby.

They say it quickly spread to several businesses in the Town House Plaza, some of which are a total loss.

Authorities say they were able to contain the fire to the plaza, and no other buildings around were damaged.

They say it appears the fire started in the kitchen area of the restaurant,
but there is no exact word on a cause.
