There's a sweet little subdivision sprouting from the grounds of what was once a sour eyesore.
Mid Central Community Action Agency built the first of several new homes at Trailside subdivision in Bloomington.
It's the site where the former Beich Candy Factory stood.
The four homes are designed with disaster resistance and accessibility in mind.
"All of the homes are accessible so that they can easily be adapted for anybody who has special needs. And they're also very affordable. There are financing layers so that qualified home buyers can get up to 50–thousand dollars in assistance," said Lori Manning, M.C.C.A. Board President.
The new homes are priced around 175–thousand dollars.
Twenty–three homes are going up in the subdivision.
