Tthe candidates for the Peoria City Council Third District met with the public Monday night for a question and answer session.

Bob Manning, who has served since May 2005, isn't running for re–election.

Topics included the future of District 150, the urban revitalization of Peoria and how to bring business back to Peoria.
This is the only contested city council race this year.
The top two vote–getters will move on past the February 24th primary.
The general election is on April 7th.

Besides "Mac McGwire's" comment being overtly sexist, it's also ignorant. Beth has served on numerous boards for not-for-profit organizations and was vice chair of the Heart of Peoria Commission. She's done a lot in Peoria, and would make an excellent city council member.

It is so obvious. The BA person has no degree from an accredidated college, she name drops all the time, is a board housewife married to a doctor. She has plenty of money to mount a campaign using other peoples names because she has done nothing. She is a little secretary copying for people who really do the work. But no matter the situation she gets her name in their, no name regonition of her own. She uses hubbies name ,money.Sad story for a women who should have made somthing of her self .
