Senator Dick Durbin has recommended Colleen Callahan to become the state director of rural development for the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Most recently, Callahan was the democratic candidate for the 18th District congressional seat.

She's also a University of Illinois graduate and an award winning farm broadcaster.

Callahan raises cattle on her farm in Peoria County.
