Peorian Named To Ethics Commission

The Commission charged with cleaning up Illinois Government will include Peorian Brad McMillan.

McMillian is currently head of the Institute for Principled Leadership in Public Service at Bradley University.

He's a lawyer and former Chief of Staff for Ray LaHood.
Former federal prosecutor Patrick Collins will head the panel.

The 15–member independent board is tasked with producing a report that proposes new ethics laws or regulations.

Lt. Governor Pat Quinn, in annoucing the commissioners, said; "I think the people under stand that the people will prevail. That's what democracy is all about. There's a resiliency in democracy, where good men and women come together –not for profit—but for a chance to do the right thing".

Other commission members include former Chicago Tribune managing editor Hanke Gratteau, Cook County State's Attorney Anita Alvarez, Northwestern football coach Pat Fitzgerald, and Sheila Simon, the late US Sen. Paul Simon's daughter,
