Time to Move

By WEEK Reporter

The cold winter weather can sometimes make it difficult to be active.

But Health officials say staying active is important for your health... especially if you have Arthritis.

Today is Movement Monday... a national effort by the Arthritis Foundation to encourage everyone to get up and be active.

Adam Jamsa is the event coordinator with the Arthritis Foundation.

He says, "If you just sit there, you're not helping yourself by just sitting there. You have to move to keep joins moving. That's what this movement is all about."

Doctors say even the simplest movements will help ease the pain associated with arthritis.

For example if your shoulder hurts... walk your fingers up a wall... to stretch it out.

If you don't move your joints they can get extremely stiff.
