Obama Wants DTV Delay

By Michelle Mantel

As of now, be prepared for February 17th.
That's the day analog signals will be shut off and t–v stations will only send out a signal in digital.
But, the President Elect is urging Congress to postpone the switch partly due to the lack of government funds.

WEEK General Manager Mark DeSantis says, "There is still a number of requests that have not been fulfilled for those coupons and there's still no money to appropriate new ones."

An Obama official says the Commerce Department has run out of money for coupons that consumers use to purchase a digital converter box.
The box allows people to remain using their old analog sets when the transition takes place.
Obama also says many Americans still rely on analog TVs and are not prepared for the transition.
