A 31–year–old Stanford man dies this morning, after he rear–ended a stationary garbage truck.

The McLean County coroner says Timothy R. Applegate crashed his car around 6:30 this morning. The coroner says he apparently sneezed right before the collision and was unable to stop in time.

Medical officials transported Applegate to OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, where was pronounced dead just after 8 a.m.

The coroner says preliminary autopsy results indicate he died from multiple injuries, specifically to the chest.

Applegate was reportedly on his way to work in Peoria. He was married and the father of two young children.
