Chilly Weather Keeps Animals Active

By Emily West

The cold temperatures may keep some of you from visiting the zoo.
But if you want to get a good look at animals in action, zoo keepers say now is the time to go.

Many of the animals were out at the Miller Park Zoo in Bloomington Monday morning.

"Now is the time to come and see them. The otter is out. The leopard is out. The tiger is out. The pandas are out running around. The sea lions are swimming more than sleeping which is what they do all summer long, so it really doesn't bother the animals that are out right now," said Brianna Eickhoff, zookeeper.

The Miller Park Zoo has public feedings everyday even during the winter.
