The village of Morton is combing forces to help businesses and residents can cut costs in these tough economic times.

The president of the Morton Chamber of Commerce announced it is teaming up with the Morton Economic Development Council.
The two organizations will share three full time employees. This is a cost saving measure.

"What we realized that the ability of the Chamber to fill in time with the EDC to do book keeping, clerical work and those types of activities would alleviate my time so I could act in a leadership role for the Chamber. We feel like this is a win win situation for both organizations," said Jennifer Daly, now executive director of both organizations.

Daly says the agencies have similar goals keeping businesses in Morton and bringing in new ones.
For now the combined group will work out of the Morton Chamber of Commerce building.
