Shopping for gifts this time of year can be really fun... but also stressful, especially if you are working on a tight budget.
If you're trying to keep a lid on the expenses this year... there are ways you can save money.
Kate Varness is the owner of Green Light Organizing.
She says, "The number one thing people should remember for the holidays, keep track of things. Get it down on paper instead of trying to remember just in your head. That way you'll know what your priorities are and you can make sure you are doing the things that are important to you."
Varness says consider planning a gift exchange around the first of the year... that way you can take advantage of end of the year sales.
Another tip she has... during this busy holiday season, if you are cooking a meal... make extra and stick it in the freezer.
That way when you are rushing around doing your holiday shopping... you don't have to stop and get a meal out... you can come home and it's all ready done.
Coming up tonight at ten in our special report Pinching Pennies... we'll introduce you to a family of 6 and you can hear about how they budget for the holidays.
