Water Value Repairs Cause Traffic Headaches

A boil order has forced a local business to temporarily close.

One World Restaurant turned away customers Thursday rather than boil water for its specialty coffees and recipes.

The boil order came after Illinois American water made valve repairs overnight. A spokesperson for the water company says they made the repairs at that time to create as little inconvenience to local businesses and drivers as possible.

Workers had to tear into the road at the intersection of University and Main to make the water valve repairs. So one of the busiest intersections in Peoria is even more congested tonight

Traffic is expected to be down to one lane until Monday.
