An elaborate ceremony honors Veterans at Peoria Christian School.
Students and staff participated in the school's annual celebration to honor the men and women who serve our country.
The grade school choir sang songs thanking the veterans and recognizing the different branches of service.
A Medal of Honor recipient from the Vietnam War was also recognized during the ceremony.
"I believe the young people want to know what we're talking about when we're talking about veteran sacrifice and veteran dedication and how that applies to freedom and what does that really mean? I think the young people really thirst for that information," said Lt. Col. Hal Fritz.
"To actually hear the story from the veterans and to see the pictures makes it real," said Denise Bailey with Peoria Christian School.
Prisoners of War and service members who are missing were also honored during a special part of the ceremony.
A formal table was set with a flag from each branch of service to honor those service members.
