State Farm Celebration

By Emily West

At State Farm's annual Veteran's Day Breakfast, two sisters sang an emotional song about what family life is like when a parent is away.

Alyssa and Cassy Gaddis are from Springfield.

12 year old Alyssa recently wrote the song because her dad is in the military.

She says, "He's like my hero. The people that go to fight for our country. We owe them, I'm just so proud of him for being my dad and being in the military."

Her 16 year old sister Cassy sings with her. She says, "The song has such a strong message that we want to get out to the military families because there's never really been a song from a child or a girl's point of view. It's always from an adult's or a solider so that's kind of what is special about the song."

State Farm sponsored the girls to go to Nashville and record the song.

After their appearance at today's Breakfast, they are headed back to Nashville to make a music video.
