State Farm Employees Gain Health, Lose Weight

By Tom McIntyre

Some State Farm employees are celebrating healthy gains they've made this year....

The gains are really losses...thanks to two programs implemented at the company... Live Well, Be Well and the 50–Million Pound Challenge promoting exercise and healthy eating.

Nationally known physician and author Dr. Ian Smith created the program for State Farm. He returned to the company today to cheer on workers who began their weight loss quest earlier this year.

About one–thousand Bloomington workers have shed 10–thousand pounds of extra weight.
