A 21–year old LeRoy man has been charged with the rape and murder of his sister–in–law.

Jason Marksteiner was in McLean County Court this afternoon and ordered held on one million dollars bond.

His sister–in–law, 19–year old Jodi McGrew was found in Marksteiner's parents' LeRoy home yesterday morning.

Marksteiner faces three counts of murder and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault.

According to McLean County Coroner Beth Kimmerling, Jodi McGrew died as a result of trauma to her head, but had also been strangled.

Because Jodi McGrew was pregnant at the time of her death, that opens up the possibility of an additional charge of killing an unborn child.

Assistant State's Attorney Kim Campbell says a decision on that charge hasn't been made...and would not comment if the death penalty is being considered.
