The Peoria County State's Attorney's office concludes there is no information to show congressional candidate Aaron Schock committed a misdemeanor as a notary public.
One of Schock's opponents, Democratic candidate Colleen Callahan, brought up allegations that Schock had improperly dated a document in early 2000 for his parents. His family had not benefited from post–dating the document.
The State's Attorney's office was asked to investigate if Schock committed official misconduct.
Assistant State's Attorney Seth Uphoff reviewed the allegations and not only found no information to show official misconduct by a notary public, but he also said the statute of limitations to file such an infraction had passed.
