State Parks Delay Closing

If you want to go to an Illinois State Park or historic site, you've got two extra weeks.

Governor Blagojevich is delaying the closure of about two–dozen state sites while his administration sorts out the personnel changes involved.
Instead of closing on October first, the historic sites will close on October 15.

Meanwhile, parks will shut down at the end of November instead of the beginning of that month.

The Democratic governor ordered the cuts to help close a two billion–budget deficit.
