Stand up to cancer...that's the name of the TV special airing on the three major networks Friday night. This evening –area– medical leaders are also standing up to cancer.
The Illinois Breast and Cervical Coalition is sponsoring an awareness campaign at a local high school football game.
Breast Health educators will be at the Metamora–Washington game to remind fans... not to pass up the chance to take a time out and get a mammogram.
"We're going to be reaching out to teens if they have any questions or concerns...but we're also going to be reaching out to their moms and anybody there. We're heading out to some games that there's going to be a lot of participants and a lot of people coming to watch and we'll reach a wide variety of people that are going to be coming in ages," said Tenille Oderwald, RN.

Ever since I can remember there has been breast cancer awareness.There is so much support for this disease.Yet it is disappointing the other diseases,such as HIV/AIDS,Luekemia,Children cancer,etc that have little to no support of awareness or even more fundraisers.It seems to me that those who do all this work for breast cancer is ignoring these other diseases.Even with HIV/AIDS being a pandemic,which means whereever there is ppl on this Earth they are either @ risk of infection or are infected.
