Inmate Dies At Jail

By Syreeta Baker

Authorities say a 38-year-old inmate at the Peoria County Jail is dead after officials found him unresponsive in his cell. Peoria County Coroner Johnna Ingersoll says Johnny Grayson of Peoria was pronounced dead around 10:30 Friday night at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.

Authorities say Grayson was alone in his cell and was found unresponsive almost an hour earlier. Grayson was incarcerated one week ago on traffic charges.

An autopsy was performed and the cause of death is pending toxicology test results.

Ingersoll says Grayson had a history of seizures.
