If you're looking for a way to cool off with a sweet treat Thursday, head on over to Dairy Queen.
Thursday only, all the proceeds from Dairy Queen Blizzard sales go to the Children's Miracle Network.
At the Dairy Queen on Knoxville in Peoria employees got to work early Thursday... working on filling pre–orders for customers. In just that location, workers had to make 600 blizzards before the store opened this morning.
"We donate 100 percent of our sales to the Children's Hospital of Illinois right here. What we're going to do is make blizzards. I already have over 600 presold blizzards that we have to make that are going out this afternoon plus whatever customers come in and order some," said Kim Davis, Dairy Queen General Manager.
"Community support of the Children's Hospital is amazing, and the businesses that are coming in and ordering for their whole offices are able to pre–order and come in and pick those up, and we also just have people who walk in and purchase for their family or for their coworkers or whoever that might be," said Lauren Alexander, Children's Miracle Netwrok.
This is a nationwide event that last year raised more than four million dollars.
