Yesterday's tornadoes did not cause much structural damage throughout parts of Central Illinois, but left quite a cleanup job for some families in areas bordering Tazewell, Woodford and McLean Counties.

Lori and Mark Rader's home got little damage even though Wednesday's tornado caused a tree to fall on the roof. After seeing the destruction surrounding her home Rader is glad she was not there when the twister hit.

Lori Rader said, "I couldn't believe it, I just couldn't believe the damage. We thought it was that bad up here but when we walked back there to our landlords it's like somebody dropped a bomb in the middle of a forest."

Crews spent most of the day clearing trees, branches and roads leading to the area.

The twister sent everything around the home flying for several yards leaving a long path of destruction.

Six evergreen trees about 35 feet tall stood in this spot, but as you can see here only three and a half are still standing.

About three miles away on Jack Hall's hayfield about 100 trees were strewn around as the twister crossed his property. Fortunately his cows were not hurt.

Jack Hall said, "It didn't look like it was this far South so we weren't too worried until we got home and found out that wow just how it had gone by and everybody was panicking. We got everybody calmed down and nobody was hurt and everybody was accounted for. That's the main thing."

On the other side of the roadway the tornado ripped part of the roof off on this barn. The storm also twisted and uprooted trees all along the side of the gravel road.

Back on Rader's property tractors keep trying to made headway into the cleanup but it could take a while.

Despite the destruction to mother-nature folks here are just glad conditions are not worse.

Right now they are focusing on getting their properties back in shape, but the memory is hard to shake.

"I don't want to have to see anything like that again. I would rather watch it on T-V where you can change the channel."

While changing the channel is easy Rader says she will not forget her experience.
