Flood Funding $1.7 Million

Tools

By Jeff Muniz

Flood Victims in Livingston and Iroquois Counties have so far collected more than $1.7-million in federal funding to rebuild. FEMA reports more than 600 people have applied for assistance with nearly 350 of them going through the inspection process.

Inspectors are getting to homes devastated by January's flood about a day or two after victims call 1-800-621-FEMA to register. FEMA also is encouraging residents to apply for low interest loans through the Small Business Administration. So far, only 324 people have taken out loan applications.

Residents can meet with these agencies at Disaster Recovery Centers in Pontiac and Watseka from nine to seven daily.
