14-Month-Old Boy Dies In Bathtub

Autopsy results show a healthy 14-month-old boy died of drowning. Peoria County Coroner Johnna Ingersoll says Peyton Fitch was pronounced dead in the OSF Saint Francis Medical Center Intensive care unit around 5:30 Friday night.

Ingersoll says a family member found Peyton face down in a bathtub filled with water. Ingersoll says the boy was in the tub with a two-year-old sibling at the time.

The incident is under investigation.

What a tragedy. It is not helpful to criticize the parents, I am sure they feel horrible enough already. My prayers go to the family, as I have a 14 month old boy. I couldn't imagine the heartache they must feel.

Yes it was one of those stupid mistakes but this parent now has to live with this for the rest of their life. How many of us as parents have made stupid mistakes not thinking that something like this would happen to us? My heart and prayers go out to this family and instead of criticizing them we should be around them with love and compassion to help them make it through this terrible time.
