By News 25 Staff

There are some serious moments to March Madness. Illinois State Police are reminding local and out of town drivers to drive safely. For the first time during the Illinois High Association tournament, a wrecked ISP squad car is on display.

State police say they want to remind motorist of the importance of Scott's Law. Under the state law, drivers must change lanes away from the activity and reduce their speed when they enter a construction zone or come upon an emergency vehicle.

Scott's law was named after a Chicago firefighter who was killed by a reckless driver at an accident scene.
