Today is the day the nation honors the 16th president, Abraham Lincoln.

Honest Abe was born on February 12th 199 years ago.

President Bush says of all the successors to George Washington, none had a bigger impact on the presidency and the country than Lincoln.

About 300 people made the annual pilgrimage to the Lincoln tomb in Springfield today.

Members of the American Legion came from 10 states to participate in the wreath laying ceremony.

Events will be held all year leading toward the 200th anniversary of Lincoln's birth in 2009.
