Junior League's I Like Me Program Pays Dividends

Peoria's Junior League is helping students improve their reading skills at one Peoria Grade School.

Kindergartener's at Garfield Primary School received personalized books today and then read them with members of the Junior League.

The "I Like Me" program has volunteers from the League going into Garfield twice a week to read to the kindergarten classes.

Today's new books have students' names in the story as a way for teh children to connect to the plot.

The Junior League of Peoria has more than 400 active members. One of the groups primary focus is to make a difference in the Peoria community.
