Peoria Disposal Company Dealt Another Blow

By WEEK Producer

The Illinois Pollution Control Board deals another blow to Peoria Disposal Company Thursday.

The board upheld the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency's decision not to allow PDC to modify its permit and expand.

PDC wants to continue treating hazardous waste at its Pottstown landfill.

But several citizen groups and the County Board unanimously opposed those efforts so once current capacity at the landfill is reached...no more hazardous waste treatment at the site.

That's unless an appellate court rules in PDC's favor later this year.
