Closet Of Cheap Clothes

Black Friday sales are looking expensive in comparison to the bargain prices shoppers get at Julep's Closet. Discount hunters came through the doors for the Julep's Closet sale at the Peoria Riverplex.

Sunday was the last day for the Junior League of Peoria's three-day event, which offered clothing for as cheap as 50 cents. Organizers say their indoor garage sale gives residents a chance to get items at a great price, while also giving back to the community.

"It's a fundraising arm for us, but it's also service to the community as we get into the winter months people can come and really outfit the whole family for winter or get all sorts of house ware items for the months ahead," Julep's Closet Chair Mandy Watson says.

Officials say unsold merchandise will be donated to church groups and non-profit organizations. This year's sale brought in about 30-thousand- dollars. The proceeds will go toward future Junior League community projects.
