Opinions of Central Illinois residents are deciding which inventions from Donny Deutsch's Minutes to Millions Segment on the Big Idea will make the cut in the real world.
At Cyd's Gourmet Kitchen in Junction City folks came in to cast judgment on products.
Bringing back the old saying if it plays in Peoria it can work anywhere.
But some folks came out to give more than just their opinion.
Donny Deutsch, the host of 'The Big Idea', said, "Forget the experts is it going to make is it not going to make the real people, the real experts are the people the next day who are going to be shopping."
And some of those so-called experts like Dana Parson were at Cyd's Gourmet Kitchen looking over new inventions like the Spi-Belt, the Vin-T-Bikini, Grill Charms and the Hey Buddy Vending Machine.
Parson said, "Everybody's opinion is different from each other around here so if it will play here hopefully everybody else in the United States will like it too."
Washburn resident Martin Mitchell had plans to go to New Jersey to see a taping of Big Idea, but now the Big Idea, or least a part of it, has come to him.
"I was just talking to my wife she's a flight attendant so I have the ability to fly around a little bit and I was going to go to the show then they told me the show was going to be here so I came down," said Mitchell.
Parson took the day off of work for the Minutes to Millions taping. He wanted to be a part of the show that inspired him to invent his own product of marinated olives.
"Watching the Donny Deutsch show I knew it was fine because with his inspiration I knew I could start a business and get it rolling."
Deutsch has some advice for those just like Parson who are trying to make Millions in Minutes.
"What's the key to success? It is always to start with passion. You have to be passionate about what you have, what you're selling and what you believe in because if you don't believe in it nobody else will."
Will it Play in Peoria airs in the Minutes to Millions: Would You buy it segment tonight. The show airs on CNBC at 9:00 Central.
