A restaurant in Morton is making a name for itself with home–style meals.
Eric Shangraw tries the meat and potatoes at "Sidwell's" in this week's You Gotta Eat.

Sidwell's Family Restaurant is one of those small town joints, which is closed by two every afternoon.
Instinctively, I love little dinners like this!
You have to figure they know what they're doing when they have the confidence to shut the doors right after the lunch hour.

"Breakfast and lunch is something I've always specialized in so that is what we concentrate on," said Jim Sidwell standing over his grill.

Sidwell and his wife Jesse took the business over two years ago. His family ran the Washington Family Restaurant in Washington for almost thirty years. Experience taught Jim, customers want homemade everything. Jim even bakes all the pies.

"Very good service. Great prices. Good coffee," said customer Ben Hawkins who was sitting with friend.

"Good home cooking! That's why I really like it. It is an old fashioned home cooked menu," said customer Wayne Kaiser who was having lunch with his wife.

The menu special today was homemade noodles and chicken with real mashed potatoes and a vegetable.
The noodles are nice. The sauce they come in is rich. The carrots and chicken tender and the smooth mashed spuds: out of this world!
Photographer Larry Faulk ordered the exact same thing as me, except he went with corn instead of my green beans.
Larry too loved his plate of noodles.
Down the home stretch, Larry ordered the chocolate pie. I had lemon pie and a fresh cup of that good coffee.
It was all wonderful dessert.
Our bill: $21.18 plus tip.
Who needs dinner when you can get breakfast and lunch at Sidwell's.

Sidwell's Family Restaurant is downtown Morton.
They are open for breakfast and lunch seven days a week.
