Starting Monday, free prostate cancer screenings are being offered in Peoria and Pekin. Methodist Medical Center and Midwest Urological Group are offering the screenings.

Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers for men...and for the most part...it's a slow growing cancer which can be treated when detected early.

However, .the death of Peoria musician Dan Fogelberg at the age of 53 shows that's not always the case. Because prostate cancer involves both the reproductive and digestive systems, some men were reluctant to talk about it.
