Peoria Native Dan Fogelberg Dies

Peoria native Dan Fogelberg has died. His hits including, ``Leader of the Band'' and ``Same Old Lang Syne'' helped define the soft-rock era in the 1970s.

His official Web site says Fogelberg died at his home in Maine after battling prostate cancer.

Fogelberg was born in Peoria and graduated from Woodruff High School in 1969.

The singer was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer in 2004.

His last performance in Peoria came at the Civic Center on June 18th, 2002.

Dan Fogelberg was 56-years-old.
