Emily West joined the News 25 team in June 2005 as a producer. She is now a general assignment reporter. Emily came to WEEK from the University of Illinois where she graduated with honors with a degree in journalism and specializations in history and speech communications.

During college Emily worked as an assistant production manager at WILL-TV and as a teaching assistant. She also anchored, produced and reported for the college radio and television station.

Emily's first professional experience happened right here in Central Illinois. She interned with WEEK the summer before her senior year.

One of Emily's passions in life is dance. During her free time, Emily teaches jazz, tap and hip hop classes. She also enjoys spending time with her family, friends and pets. Emily was born and raised in Central Illinois.
